How to use it

  1. 1

Add the PDFs you want to combine. You can drop them all in at once.

Put them in the right order with the up and down arrows.

  3. 3

Press merge. The combined file downloads straight away.

When you would use this

Merging comes up more often than it should. A contract arrives in three parts because it was signed by three people on three days. A report and its annexures are separate exports. A claim needs the invoice, the delivery note and the photographs as one attachment because the person receiving it will only open one file.

Order matters more than most tools admit. Files are merged in the order shown on this page, not the order your computer happened to list them in โ€” which is usually alphabetical, and alphabetical is almost never the order a document should read in. "Annexure A" sorting before "Agreement" is the classic. Set the order here before you merge, and check the first and last page of the result.

Nothing is re-encoded. Each page is copied across as it is, so text stays selectable, fonts stay embedded and the file quality is identical to what you put in. That also means the merged file is roughly the sum of the originals โ€” if it needs to fit an email limit, compress it afterwards rather than expecting the merge to shrink anything.

Form fields and digital signatures are the one thing to watch. Copying pages between documents does not carry an interactive form or a cryptographic signature with them, because a signature covers the whole original file and stops being valid the moment that file changes. If a signed PDF has to stay verifiable, send it alongside rather than merged into something else.

Questions

Are my files uploaded?
No. The merge runs inside your browser, so the PDFs never leave your computer. That also means it works offline once the page has loaded.
Is there a limit on how many I can merge?
No fixed limit. Very large sets are bounded by your own machine's memory rather than by us โ€” if a huge batch stalls, merge it in two halves and then merge the halves.
Will it reduce the quality?
No. Pages are copied, not re-encoded, so the result is identical to the originals. The file size will be roughly the sum of the inputs.
What about a password protected PDF?
Remove the password in your PDF reader first. A locked file cannot be read without its password, and we never see the file to ask you for one.
